Take a homebuyer education class
We require all of our homebuyers to complete a pre-purchase, HUD-certified education class. This free class consists of eight hours in the classroom and is offered through multiple partner organizations in Columbus. Through these classes, you will learn: how to apply for a mortgage loan, mortgage loan products, how to budget to buy a home, understanding credit scoring, loan analysis, and the closing process. For more information on signing up for this class, Education links.
Talk to a lender and qualify for a 30 year, fixed rate mortgage.
In order to purchase a Healthy Home, buyers must obtain a 30-year fixed rate mortgage.
Review Income Qualifications for the program
You must be below 120% of area median household income for the area. This chart describes the median household income (AMI) in Franklin County for the year 2016. For reference below, household size means all persons permanently living in the house. Household income means all income of persons over 18.
Review an application
This application is required to verify your income and to collect demographic information for our funders. The application can be submitted directly to Healthy Homes or via your Realtor.
